I love the idea of a pond in your backyard that salamanders would breed in! You are one lucky human! Please, keep us up-to-date about the progress of your little construction project!

And for the record, newts are a type of salamander. All newts are salamanders, but not every salamander is a newt.

Salamander season is on us again. I pulled out 2 beauties in the last week.

I fished them out, warmed them up and put them on the wetland that our garden has become where I hope they will be OK.

I love these little guys!

Wow what beauties.. You should set up a home tank for some personal specimens! do you have that pond yet?

I think I'd rather let them roam free and have the pleasure of coming across one every now and then.

No pond yet. Hasn't been necessary since it basically hasn't stopped raining for the whole year and the garden is basically a swamp.
