Did you rinse it first. Is Lottie in the tank right now?

Also, depending on how well you rinsed it take a from an hour or longer for the sand dust particles to settle. My husband spent hours rinsing our sand and it settled within 30mins-hour.
If in doubt, remove Lottie till it settles, just put her in a bucket of dechlorinated water.
