Hi all :)

I just secured a new job so in two weeks Im moving! Exciting!

But my question is, my tank should finish cycling this week - its almost there! So how can I transport my "cycle" without killing it off? Its a three hour drive but heat shouldnt be a problem.

My plan is to put all the ornaments and substrate in bags of tank water and keep the filter full (its a canister). Would this save the cycle? Should I also save like 50% of the tank water to put in at the other end? Thanks for your help :)

Skip saving the water. I rarely bring more than 5 gallons, and that's only what's in the bucket to keep ornaments and substrate wet. As long as you keep everything moist, it should preserve your bacteria.

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
