Hellothere
I am looking for a decent price scale to weight my salamanders to make sure they are gaining- not loosing- weight. does anyone have a good recommendation?

An electronic balance from a cooking store is a good place to start.

I think it may be difficult to find a balance that is both accurate and precise for a decent price. Cheaper kitchen balances usually utilize mechanisms that while they may be precise (but they are not necessarily so), can become inaccurate. Accuracy and precision will be important given the small size of most caudates. If I were you I would also have a standard weight. A certain object that you mass with your caudates every time you use the balance to check for accuracy.

unless you have a very small animals (less than say 2-3 grams) then a used but in good condition triple beam balance may suit you.
