Server Move and Upgrade starting Tonight

Due to the fact that I've gone ahead with upgrading, the site will be moving servers (staying with the same ISP). To quote the ISP:

"This change requires your account to move to another server and you may have to update the DNS Name Servers of your Domain Name. This may take up to 72 hours to propagate after you have made this change.

All account moves take between 1-2 days to execute, and are completed between the hours of 12AM and 6AM, EST. Once approved your website will be moved by our technicians."

What all of this means is that there might, for a time, be two versions of Caudata.org available - the copy on the new server and the copy on the old server. Unfortunately, it takes a while for pointers on the Internet to start pointing at the new location. As a result, it's quite likely that many users will keep seeing the old version for up to 2 days.

There is also the possibility that people may not be able to access either version for up to 2 days. There's not a heck of a lot I can do about that latter possibility but it's unlikely to happen.

In any case, I'm going to disable posting on the forum late this evening (US EST time, cause that's where the site is located). As soon as the new copy is up, I will re-enable posting there.

There's a good chance that for most people this change will be seamless, but please bear with us if you have site access problems.

Best wishes,

-John

The move/upgrade is complete. You're reading this from the new server. Thank you very much for donating. With your continued support I'm sure we will enjoy growth far into the future.

As the pointers to the site update around the world, more and more people have started reaching the site. Hopefully within the next 24 hours we will have everyone back.

There have been a few hiccups with the move (chat not working, certain features not behaving or reporting correctly). Fortunately I've been able to iron these out as I've discovered them or as they've been pointed out to me.

Found several inconsistencies with time resolution throughout the website. These have now been fixed.
