can anyone tell me what i need to set my axolotl tank up ?eg filter etc.

I'd say at least a 10 gallon tank. I use a fluval internal filter but mine is slightly modified because they sometimes make to much current for tanks and that can really bother axies. With a filter you just want a really low current filter. I use carbon filter inserts in all of my tanks (fish and axie) because they seem to keep it cleaner. Go to www.axolotl.org they have a lot of good information on there that can get you going in the right direction.

thanx for the info grant

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
