Im new to axies and I have just discovered that the tips of their fingers go dark once theyre sexually mature. Is this the case with my Axie?

Also is anybody able to see if its a boy or a girl? Ive read/seen pictures on how to tell the difference but for some reason cant actually tell myself what mine is -.-

(Please see attachments for photos :) )
(I hope they work)

How old is your axie? Sometimes you can't really tell until they are anywhere from 6 months and up. Sometimes closer to a year even.

From the look of your picture I would say girl, but again that can change if she is young ;) Check out this link too.

I agree with Mekkha, my axie is 2 years and I have only just really discovered it's true gender! It does have little black toes as well.

Is that gravel in your tank? If so, can I just suggest changing it to sand, as the axie's can eat it and it causes an impaction.

But your axie's are veerry cute! Lovely!

My boy looked the same as the girls until the very week he left "presents" in the tank. He was just over a year then, I think - or very close to 1 year anyway.

But, I agree with Scooty - another vote for removing that evil gravel before it's too late + won't matter whether this lovely axie was a boy or a girl :(

Mekkha thanks for posting that link by the way, it has now definitely confirmed my axolotl is a male. Back to the drawing board for thinking of a name then! Can't carry on calling him 'Miss Thing' for the rest of his life ;)
