Hi Huug,
how old are the smaller ones on your pictures? It looks they live aquatic like their parents. At what age/ size did they enter the water?
Greetings

Hi Fabian, this is his cb '08 but I have raised some cb'09 larvae and kept it aquatic after morphing to, grows much better like this. Just put a stone in the tank where water is flowing over softly, this worked great for me. Works well for Triturus species and N.kaiseri to.

Hi Fabian,

Like Kenny said, they are cb08!
I have put them in an aquatic set up after one year.
The first year i raised them terrestrial.

Because they did so well in an aquatic set up, i decided to raise the next batch from 09 aquatic from the start.

Experients says, that the development in aquatic set-up is mostly fasetr than teresstrial. I try it with every species that could be held (correctly) aquatic to put the youngsters back to water as soon as possible.
Sometimes you have losts by drowning animals, so you have to very careful.

Good luck

Thanks for your answers.
After years of raising my young granulosas terrestrial, I've tried it in an aquatic setup 2008 and ended in desaster. They were always climbing the glass and not eating. After a few death animals (i don't know ih they drown, but they ended lying dead in water), I changed to terrestrial setup but the remaining didn't recover.
Normally I put them back to an aquatic setup after about one year like Huug does.

Hi Fabian,

a year is a good time to bring back T.gran. to the water.

Other species as Triturus carnifex, alpestris or karelinii can be put back earlier.

See you
