I have had 5 clutches of eggs this winter. I have had 3 from Pepper, my wildtype female and 2 from Pinky, my albino girl. But Freckles, my leucistic just doesn't seem to be interetsted in Red, my wildtype male.

So I've got her a new potential mate - he's an 8" year old leucistic I got from another member here. I have called him Monty because his markings make an M shape on his nose.

Hopefully Monty will make some connection with Freckles eventually, but for now he's in the Batchelor Pad tank with Red. They've had a nose-to-nose discussion and accepted each other, and Monty has been exploring.

Here is my gorgeous new boy:

I have a couple of females who dont lay and others who dont stop lol. Its generally assumed that axolotls are not too fussy whom they breed with but I have females refuse to breed with smaller males when they are used to being in a tank with my 12" wild type male. I had pair of 10"+ females in with a 9" male whom I was checking was fertile, after several weeks of him dropping spermataphores all over the place they still wouldnt lay, I returned them to the tank with the 12 " male who is their regular tank mate and they both layed within a day.

I haven't put them together, so no.
I'm busy raising 60 babies from the last batch of eggs, once those are all grown up & moved on I'll see about a new pairing.
