Should chiller be set up during cycling?

Hi all! Currently doing a fishless cycle on a 50 gal. Sand substrate, plastic plant, two hides. Canister filter has been running, we are on day 18 & nitrites finally appeared at 0.25 ppm yesterday. I really have no idea how long the tank will take to fully cycle. I know everything is supposed to be fully set up during cycling but everything I read said that cold water would slow the cycle down. When should I set up the chiller? Does anyone know approximately how long it will take for the tank to finish cycling? I want to ensure I purchase my axolotl at the appropriate time & when the chiller is running properly (I am afraid the temp change will throw off my cycle possibly & I live in FL so we will need it). Thanks for the advice!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
