Shrinking Gills

I know the gills shrink to d with oxygen etc but my axies seem to be shrinking an gettng very pale towards the ends :S Its not fungus tho :S any ideas?

Have you tested your water parameters for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

Lorie, I had that problem once too, during a cold spell (cold water holds more dissolved oxygen). I believe it's just the tips atrophying because they're not needed any more.

when fraggle was sick his gill feathers went white but now they are nice and red again. flaps them like he is dumbo or something lol that was the false fungus alarm i mentioned on myspace
