Sick Axie? Appears to be Pooing Blood

My axie Gob has a long strand(about 2-3 inches) coming from his bum. It breaks off sometimes but then it just keeps coming out. Is this normal? I have never actually witnessed him/her go to the toilet before. His/her water temp has really been up alot lately so im not sure if its related so I have put him in the fridge overnight just to be safe. Also the gills are less bright as they usually are and he/she has started floating to the top of the tank.
Any help is appreciated, im a little freaked out at whats going on.
Cheers, Scott.

do you have gravel in your tank? Not too sure what the strand but it looks a bit mucousy - mine used to be on gravel but their poo, when pooing out gravel has never looked like that. Keep her in the fridge for a few days, making sure to change the water completely daily with chilled dechlorinated water. Keep a bottle of dechlor. water in fridge. Also, make sure water is low enough so she doesn't float and feet rest on bottom. Keeping him/her in fridge may clear whatever is in her body and help destress her giving her body a chance to heal.

What is tank temperature? If it's round 24 or higher you have to cool the tank (if s/he's in there) using ice bottle method or fans blowing across surface and possibly moving to coolest part of house.

No I switched to sand about a month ago so I dont think it would be related to that. The temp has been around 25-27 degrees so ill invest in some ice bottles. I got him in a more shallow container in the fridge thanks for the suggestion. S/He still seems to be pooing it out so im still pretty worried about it.

I hope she improves, fingers crossed.

As for gravel my babies, now 4yrs old, haven't been on gravel for over a year and they still poo bits out but it doesn't come out in string like like your one. Is your sand really fine?

Sadly Gob died today. The sand was a little fine, im still trying to work out what went wrong.

Gosh sorry to hear about Gob.

Did you test your tankwater at all?

Maybe her immune system was just too low and couldn't cope if it was continually coming out. Sorry, couldn't have been of more help to you.
