I recently inherited a new golden albino axie from a friend and I received her in perfect health. All has been well for almost a week with no signs of stress however overnight she has suddenly become very stressed and her stomach area, tail and back legs have turned a patchy red colour. She is also very lethargic and sits with her mouth open. I can't find anything that could be causing the stress as the other axie in the tank is perfectly fine the water temperature is consistently 18 degress Celsius. the PH is 7.4, ammonia 0, nitrate 0, nitrite 0. Any ideas?

How about the water flow ? Is there a strong current ? Also is he eating ?

The gill does show sigh of high current stress , if that is the case. However, open mouth is not a very good sigh and time is crucial, I would fridge her first then see how it's goes from there .

Has your tank gone through the nitrogen cycle? It's doubtful that a fully established tank will have 0ppm Nitrates.... all cycled tanks have Nitrates.
