Sick newt possible limb rot need help

I don't know what happened to him but one of his back feet look kind of like a club and it looks white and one of his other feet look blackish and his toes are shriveled but I don't know I will upload a picture of it later have any eastern newt owners had this happen to one of yours.

I have never delt with anything like this but I have only ever kept tigers, spotteds, and red backed salamanders for lengths of time, which are purported to be much easier than eastern newts. It looks like the flesh has degraded a way, which could mean a bacterial infection, but I am no expert. It’s unfortunate, as I just saw your video on how well this guy was doing
 
Which video also do you know what I can do to help also does this mean he's going to die
 
I would recommend you take him to the vet; they may have to amputate if it is a bacteria and it gets into his body cavity. This happened to my friend’s frog. She didn’t know how it got the infection and the vet didn’t either. They gave him antibiotics and took off the leg. Unfortunately I am not a vet yet and so cannot recommend an official course of action.
 
Yeah, this same thing happened with a pair of Slimy Salamanders I kept last year. No idea how it happened. Definitely some sort of infection though, it smelled horrible. Wasn't able to get them treated since I don't have any vets in the area that would deal with a small plethodontid like them. My best advice for now is to put it in some sort of sterile environment.
 
The best you can probably do right now is to put the newt in a well-ventilated moist (not too moist, that would just make it worse), cool, sterile environment. Then again, I'm no professional so hopefully someone more experienced with this kind of stuff has some advice.
 
I'll have to be honest, it does look bleak for your newt. If the infection doesn't spread anymore, it could be possible for it to heal, but I'm not sure. How long has it had this problem?
 
Good news is my marbled salamander doesn't have it do you think I should move my newt out of the room
 
Yes. I once had all my frogs get sick with some sort of infection. Luckily it was treatable and most survived, but you would be amazed how this stuff can spread
