Signs of signees

Hi Guys,

I would like to know if any of you know how to spot signs of illness/sickness among axis?
One of mine seems more inactive than usually and doesn't move around a lot.. She ate a little yesterday and i just fed them again now but she hasn't eating anything.. Usually they practically swallows my fingers too..

Hope some of you can help me figure out if there is anything wrong or its just normal lazy behavior..

Axolotl.org is a great source where you can read pretty much anything about axolotls. Here's a link to the health section Axolotls - Health & Diseases.

Re: Signs of signees

Long bouts of inactiveness teamed with loss of apitite, darting around the tank, trying to jump out, white film on the body, white fluffiness of the body, visible veins, redness, bloating etc. different symptoms for different causes

Axolotls can be extremely lazy, if you are worried about your axolotls you should test your water parameters and temperature as that is most likely the cause of illnesses. What are you feeding it and how much/often?

Re: Signs of signees

She doesn't look any different then usually.
I feed them with bloodworms, usually every other day..

Re: Signs of signees

What are your parameters and temperature?

You should switch to earthworms once they're big enough. I had 3" axolotls on earthworm segments.

As axies get older they become less active and eat less often. How old are your lotls? And as suggested above, the first thing to do if you are worried is check your parameters (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, temperature).
