Hello!
Cycling my first axolotl tank with my son. We picked out a cool silicone plant that we thought would be soft enough for our guy. But I started wondering if it would be safe to nibble on, or if our axolotl could bite pieces off? I can’t find any information on this!

there have been instances where axolotls have ingested fake plant parts and in at least one instance ended in the death of the axolotl.
axolotls don't nibble on or purposely eat live or fake plants as they are carnivores, what will happen is that plants etc get either in the way or get confused for food.
provided the fake plant is large and can't be pulled apart ie.. made from numerous smaller pieces glued together it should be fine, if in any doubt remove as better safe than sorry.
