Silkworms

Anyone have any experience raising these guys as food? I've noticed we have lots mulberry trees around some parts of town and I could likely start one myself. Is it too labor intensive to be considered worthwhile(I remember them in kindergarten and it didn't seem to be much work other than keeping the mulberry flowing in and removing the frass). Maybe newly hatched silkworms would be another possible newt morph food.

I have keept silk worms befor. All you need to do is throw in a few molbury leaves each day for them to munch on

I do not think that they are posenous due to a company in Australia supplying them as food

I dont know if they are dangerous to Amphibians but my gecko loves Silkworms and goes crazy over the moths. They arent the most nutritious but good for a treat.

They are perfectly fine for food. I have trouble rasing them because of the lack of supply of adequate mulberry leaves.

Over here mulberry is a pretty common tree(its got a reputation for being low class so in some areas of town they are hard to come by). I've tried little ones and the newts took them very eagerly. They are high in protein and low fat compared to many other food items if I remember correctly.
