I have 2 female Silurana paratropicalis. I am looking for a male or to swap in the Philly, Baltimore, Ephrata area.

Hello,
how have you determined the species?
Do you have pictures of your frogs?

Bye Martin

Hi Martin,
I got them from John Brekken. He got them from Burley Lilly. Burley did all of the determining. They told me they are S. paratropicalis and I'm going along with them.

Hello Michael,
thanks for the information.
Do you know where are the from oder where are the parents from?

Bye Martin

Hi Martin,
The person that gave them to me got them from Burley Lily from xenopus.com That's all I know about them. I have them in a tank with Pipa parva. They are doing fine but I don't think it's a good idea to have the two different types together.

Hello,
if you want to breed them it is not a good idea to keep them together.
But only for keeping? Why not? Both are tropical.
If the tank is big enough.

Bye Martin

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
