Slate as a tank addition

Can I use slate to form shelters/hides within my axolotl tank?
Is it safe to do so?

yes lots of people use slate ontop of pepples and things just make sure you give it a clean first lol

Yes, slate is fine. Make sure it doesn't have any sharp edges though.
