Okay so today, I went to Big Al's my local lfs, just looking to get some stuff for my current axie, Darwin, and of course as always I see something that's LIVE and that I like, that being a golden axolotl, he had quite small gills so I decided to take him into my hands and bring him with me home to get him into shape with his health, he by no means is UNHEALTHY, but could be healthier! Everything was fine, the bus ride back home he was cooled by the AC in the bus and the frozen bloodworms I stocked back up on. Pictures of the new lotl will be included, well one BAD quality picture, anyways...
My question is, while I was feeding the new little one some bloodworms in its own container while it was acclimating to the new water little by little, the parameters AND temp, my axie Darwin was also getting some attention, that being me feeding him a couple bloodworms from the new axie's container that were left over, he ate the first couple just fine, no problems. Somewhere along me feeding him, he spazzed out and swam across the tank really quickly! In doing so he managed to injure some of the skin on his head, pictures will be included, I know to look to see if fungus develops, and what worries me is his average tank temp is 19-21 or so, which isn't the highest, but still, is this putting him at more risk for fungal infections? He refused to eat after I saw the two little marks on his head that he gave himself, probably just stressed (like me falling off my bike for the first time, LOL), so I'll give him some time until he eats next, will attempt feeding tomorrow morning first thing again, gotta do a water change anyhow. Question is, will he be okay as long as I look after him and see how it progresses, for the better or for worse, I mean, these things regenerate arms and legs, a little scratch can't be much to move over, can it? Thanks for any input in advance, and please lemme know as quick as possible so I stop worrying so much about the little guy!
