I took some of these a few months ago, but I've gotten good feedback from a lot of people, so I decided to post them here.

This one was taken last month. I'd say it's my best photo so far. It was taken near the Allegheny River in Northern Pennsylvania. This is the ever-so common American Toad.

This was taken last September in West Spring Creek, Pennsylvania. It's a bit blurry, as I was just beginning to take photos like this (I wasn't very experienced). This is a Red Backed Salamander.

This, too, was taken in September. And as with the previous photo, I was just starting. You can tell by the flash in the picture (The flash was on in broad daylight). Looks like a Spotted Salamander to me.

Thanks for posting Kyle. Salamanders can be really tricky to photograph. Their body shape makes it difficult for the camera to know where to focus and of course it doesn't help that they're small. For better results next time you could try posing the animal on a nice background (moss, leaves, log etc) and taking the shot from a number of different angles to see which works best.

That does seem to be a spotted salamander.

Also, once you can get your camera to focus well (what are you using, btw?), try focusing on the eyes. One trick I do. A macro setting or lens will also work wonders.

Yeah, I forgot that spotted salamanders are fairly large when they leave the water. I'm using a Kodak DX6340 Digital Camera. The camera looks like this:

I love the picture of the toad, it really is a great shot.
