i have kept 2 taricha granulosa , very sucessfully for 20 years , with a colony of cynops orientalis, theyre so happy the fire bellies regularly breed throughout the year,
DO NOT do this with other species ! DO read the species mixing disasters page elsewhere on this site .
it was only through initial naievity as a child that they ended up in one tank, BUT in this case they have never suffered any ill effect from co-habiting
 
Good for you....I would do it if I could but I don't have much experience at that sort of thing. But hell if it works and you have a blast doing it then more power to ya.
 
yeah when I was a kid I mixed Notos I had caught with a Japanese firebelly that was my first newt. Never had any problems, but I don't think I would do it again. Besides I think that a tank looks better with a single species.
