Some rare Anurans

Here are a couple uncommon anurans, photographed behind the scenes at the Ft. Worth Zoo. Both are federally protected species.

Puerto Rican Crested Toad (Sapo Concho), Peltophryne lemur

Chiricauhua Leopard Frog, Rana chiricauensis

Hey Nate,
Did you guys try breeding the Crested Toads this last month? One of our pairs laid eggs but they had not been fertilized, just was curious if you guys had better success.

Hi Kyle, we had 3 successful pairings and sent a couple thousand tadpoles to Puerto Rico.
