Illness/Sickness: Some red sore by his mouth? A cut?

Hello.

Well, I haven't been in this thread for a while now and unfortunately I am here again to see if anyone has experienced an axolotl sickness like this.

I don't know if he got a cut from the plastic leaves or if there's bacteria infection by his mouth, but it is the red region on his mouth on the right side if you're looking at your computer, ha.

That leafy tree has been in his tank since he was a baby and he had never had any cuts from it nor has he ever gotten sick or fungal infections until now. Poor thing.

There's no abnormalities in his actions, no thrashing or scratching. In fact, he just ate a huge worm today just fine.

I put him in the fridge for now hoping that might be good.

QUESTION: Does anyone know what this red sore or cut might be? Should I do any salt baths?

Here are water parameters (no nitrate testing):

Nitrite: 0 ppm
PH: 6.2 ppm (( seems way too low, could this be the cause? ))
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Temp: 20 C

10 gallon tank with AquaClear filter, used Amquel Plus water conditioner.

NOTE: I have another axolotl in a 20 gallon tank with the same water parameters and she seems fine. No red blisters.

@ Sky: I just saw your thread. It does kind of look the same, haha. Maybe it is just a cut? I'm not sure though , since I have never had anything happen like this. I put my guy in the fridge for now to see if it'll heal on its own. Maybe you can try putting him in the fridge and see if it'll get better.

That's what I'm really hoping it is. Least he's eating fine and swimming around happy enough.

Sadly, I cannot try fridging him, due to our fridge having the habit of freezing things in six hours even when the temperature is turned up on the thing. I'm just hoping someone has the answer and if not, it heals itself. . . It's very heartbreaking when things go wrong and no one has the answer and you have no clue how to help them.

Well, just thought I'd update on my dude's condition. He's completely healed now. That red cut on his lip is gone. What I did was I put him in the fridge right away for a few weeks and then when I noticed the cut was closed and it was less red, I put him back into his tank. I fed him and made sure to clean his tank weekly and he's all healed up.

I'm just glad it didn't turn into something nasty. I hate dealing with illnesses especially with aquatic pets.

Hope this helps anyone whose had anything similar to Mowgli's condition. I am pretty sure it was a cut on his lip that he got from the stupid plastic leaves, which I'm now going to remove.

Wow what a difference

And wow, that's Mowgli. Last time I saw him he was a tiny axie sitting on the plants.
They grow so fast.

I know right? I usually always go for the natural healing with the help of the fridge. I'm not even experienced with using aquatic pet medications.

HAHAAA! I feel like he's taking forever to grow though, it's been about 4-5 years and he's still this size. He's still smaller than my other axolotl.
