New axi home. oopsi gravel moment too! Now with nice natural sand. actually used bird sand as it has oyster shell in to harden the water! can your water be too hard?

Any further suggestions on tank greatly appreciated

Not got them yet but hopefully they will find it a nice perch. Do i need a 'house' for them? I was thinking empty jar would be big enough for now, do they need a cave?

you dont realy need a house/cave for them unless u have lights on your tank because they do not have eyelids

I personally have a "half-log" from Interpets Nautical Treasures line.

Spyyk adores it, as she can sit in it, on it, through it (there's a big window!) and generally act like a silly around it.

It's also a good hideyhole if they don't feel like talking to you today, or if they're scared, or if you're just cleaning up.

So IMO, I would go for some sort of "bed" - in another tank I built for a friend I used some well scrubbed drainpipe - the original occupant loved it because I added all sorts of junctions and tunnels to run through.

If you do go for drainpipe, be sure to clean it really, really well - the plastic is often treated with anti-mold solutions.

cheers! just got Yang today, that is what i will call her, planning to get her a friend once my store gets wild types in stock
