I will need to start separating the babies in a few days. I read that different color should in their own since wild types are more aggressive. My question is should separate the white with pink eyes from the one with dark eyes? I would think that pink eyes do not see as well and a harder time hunting

I wouldn't worry too much when they've just hatched, but once they're a little bigger you could separate them by color, and once they're a bit bigger I would recommend separating them by size so the bigger ones don't bite the smaller ones.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
