Spoof pregnancy?

my 2 chinese fire bellies live happliy together and ive had them since november? last year, maybe a bit earlier than that... anyway around january or febuary i discovered the girl as what i can only describe as hem hem having it off with a leaf so to speak

so when she had finished i picked the leaf and discovered shed laid an egg. so i quickly set a up a different tank for it and put the leaf witht he egg on inside the tank. i managed to find eight more eggs over the weeks that followed. sadly i lost them all to fungus. the female is no longer fat and is showing no signs of laying anymore eggs. and it has been about 2 months since. could this be the newt form of a spoof pregnancy or could there be more eggs to follow? is it possible that the male dint court with her and that she was just laying unfertilised eggs, because i watch them whenever im in my room and they showed no signs of courting whatsoever, advise please?

It could well have been the tail-end of the laying season. She probably mated before she was collected, and was simply dumping the remaining few eggs.

Or she could just be laying infertile eggs. That happens sometimes. Especially if you only found a few eggs.

If its been 2 months since the last egg, then its almost certain that there won't be any more eggs this year. Fingers crossed they'll mate again next season.

No, I mean, sometimes they spit out a few eggs, just because. It may be that she didn't even mate, but some have been known to lay eggs without them being fertilized.
