spotted compatability

Tentatively, I think they could. They're similar in size, temperment (fairly unaggressive, hide a lot), requirements, etc. They are also of the same genus, and have large, overlapping ranges, and can often be found in the same general localities.

It's not something I would really recommend, as single-species tanks avoid a lot of unanticipated problems. However, as Kaysie outlined, these two are certainly more compatible than most.

If you decide to put them together, be sure the enclosure is quite large with plenty of hides, and be sure both have ample access to food. (Sometimes a more-shy species will stop eating when in the presence of another species.) Also, it would certainly be best if the animals have come originally from the same locality so they don't infect each other with unfamiliar germs.

ok i think i will try one marbled and a spotted but i'll watch them carefully for any agression, it's a standard 90 gal so they'll both have a pretty large area to themselves.
