Squeaking?!

I have been hearing the weirdest sounds coming from my Notophthalmus Viridescens. It's squeaking! A loud, high-pitched squeaking...has anybody ever heard this before?

I hear them do it but only when I grab them, they are in amplexus, or fighting.

I did have to pick them up because I was cleaning out the tank. But I have heard them do it in the middle of the night, too.
