Stagnant smell

I clean my Axolotl at least twice a week to get rid off uneaten food and Axi waste but I still feel the tank smells stagnant Is there any advise on how to get rid of this smell ?

Does your tank have any kind of filter or aeration? What kind of substrate on the bottom? A healthy aquarium might have an earthy smell, like garden soil, but it shouldn't smell rotten.

Thanks for that It is an earthy smell so not so worried , I’m just not keen on the smell
