A couple of days ago, I noticed my axolotl had developed little clusters of transparent polyps on his gills.

He's recently had a fungus, and had salt baths and was fridged for a couple of days, he's eating his crickets although sometimes he twitches his body instead of lunging for the food.

The fact that he's eating and generally doing okay makes me a lot less worried about these bumps, they don't seem to be causing any trouble but I'd really like to know what they are, any ideas?

Any updates? Did they end up going away/getting bigger? I have the same thing going on with mine and came here to find out what they were... I cannot find any answers yet!

Hi! Crickets are not a great primary food for axolotls as their exoskeleton is made of chitin which they cannot digest. The best food for axolotls is earthworms.

What are your water parameters, e.g. temp, pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrite and hardness? Your buddy's gill stalks look pretty bare and he looks quite thin as well.
