Hello, I've got a salamander after not having one for 24 years. I'm currently using eco earth for substrate because I'm so paranoid with using the wrong kind off substrates: ones that have peat moss, sphagnum moss, etc. Skittles is able to borrow but I'm wondering if there's something better that's safe to use to either mix in with the eco earth or use alone??? Any help is much appreciated.

YOu could try mixing a little "forest floor" with the "eco earth" and see if he likes that- experiment and see what he likes.
