im wondering if you owned a big enough pond could you go swimming with them im sure you can i dont really care if i cant touch them its just always been a dream of mine to swim with axolotls

Sure!
Though once they realise you're not edible, they'll probably stay away from you and hide until you're gone. They're not particularly playful creatures (unless food is involved).

i have the dream of building a several hundred gallon pond for axolotls, ideally in a zoological facility or in another protected area such as my future home’s backyard- id love to run a rescue and breeding facility where members of the public could pay to come feed and learn about axolotls. (no payment for learning about or looking at axolotls, but for feeding and interacting the price would be around $5-10 max, the goal isn’t to profit, but to run a sanctuary that can support itself and educate the public) id love to be able to upkeep such a place, and hope with everything i have that ill be able to someday. id love to hear everyone’s ideas on this, and appreciate any comments or advice - i might make a separate thread for this, just btw.

and as for the swimming question; one would have to shower their entire body, without soap, and have a special swimsuit used only for swimming with the axolotls (as in, not a swimsuit that has been in chlorine, as it could leech into the water)
not to mention im not sure how wise it would be to swim with the little ones. id worry too much about accidentally stepping on one, or otherwise stressing or scaring them, but just my thoughts
