I joined this site in hopes I could get some advice for my golden albino Axle. He recently had a pretty nasty fungus infection that took a few weeks to clear up. It attacked his gills and 3 of his toes. These 3 toes became injured, I think because of the salt baths (which I immediately stopped after realizing they could be harming him). He is now clear of fungus and while his gills are a bit beaten up they are recovering, his toes on the other hand are a bit swollen and have been for a few days. I was wondering if this is normal for a recovering wound or if theres something wrong? Is there anything more I can do to help? (I did black tea baths for a couple days to see if that would help but nothing really happened) I have attached a picture of his toes so you can see, any advice is greatly appreciated!!
His tank params in his hospital tank are all perfect, he gets water changes every day to keep the levels that way. Felt that was important to include.
Also I feel the need to apologize for using salt baths, reading online it seemed like it would be a great solution but after seeing what it did to my boy I don’t think it was. It killed the fungus, sure, but I don’t think it should have been my first decision. It never will be again unless I have no other choice thats for sure.
