hi there, just wondered if anyone's axies had wounded tails in the past. Our Pink "girl" scrapes a big chunk of the mid section of her lovely tail ( inside a shell that have since been fixed). it has grown out heaps as it was almost cut away into her back at one part. There arer still 2 sort of bit size chunks not filling out- it has been at least a month now. My husband thinks the tail is going to stay with these missing chunks. Anyone have similar situation?
thanks!

Yes, two of our axies, wildtypes. One had had chunk missing from the middle (top part) of his tail - she was like that when we bought her and had damaged her tail when she was less than 10cm (she's an 3yr adult now); Our other one had his tail tip bitten off by one of the others when we first got them, and now has a funny kink in the tail tip (at least it helps to identify them!).

Nope. The bit that's missing is sort of like an upside triangle. Doesn't seem to bother her, but then it's been like that for the past 2.5years or so.

hmm interesting- i thought they were the masters at regeneration!!??

The tear/damage to her tail apparently was quite severe so when it healed it did not regenerate in the exact way to cover up the damage. Also, one of our other axies had 5 toes - but 2 were only partial toes and when they regrew, instead of the usual five, she now has 7 toes on one foot.
