Iv just bought a tank 25lx16wx14h will this tank be big enough for two axis? as I only have barney at the moment but would like another one.

Thank you,

So you have a 25 gallon? I have herd of two in a twenty so I would think you would be ok. I have one in a 10 gallon and he's doing fine

The general rule is 1 foot per axie and 1 foot for decor and plants ect so for two axies ideally you need a 3 foot by 1 foot tank :D

I assume that's inches? That's about 25US gal or 90L and 2 feet long - just about big enough for 2 axies.
You need to make sure they are roughly the same size though, otherwise there could be some nipping going on.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
