Question: Tank too warm? Also need some general advice

Hey guys, just got my tank setup going and let it sit for 2 days to see what the temp stays at. It seems stable at 71.5 degrees. Is this going to be too warm for my axies? (havent gotten them yet).

Also I'll be adding a sponge filter when it arrives and start cycling my tank. Will the aeration from the sponge filter aid in the cooling?

Also does anyone have any tips on cycling the tank? Can I just change some of the water every day after I add the axies so I dont have to wait for weeks while I cycle the tank? I have read that this is ok, but I want to be sure. Thanks!

If your gonna start before you get axies your gonna need a source of ammonia. Either neet or in the form of something that can rot (a prawn for example) if you gonna do it with axies in you are going to have to be able to check the tank everyday, a master test kit would be helpfully, and that way you can have a better judge of how much water to change daily.

I do have a master test kit on the way, nitrite, nitrate, and one other one i cant remember if its ammonia or something else. I also have pH test kit. So is 71.5 too warm? i know its right on the edge....

and if i put a small piece of meat in there or something, what would be the best strategy for cycling as far as testing goes?
