Hello  I was wondering if I could get everyone's opinion on my tank?
(Here's a picture: http://www.caudata.org/forum/members/lizz-albums-axolotl-picture15613-a.jpg)

Is the set up okay? If you see something wrong please tell me!

The ammonia is 0, the nitrite is 0, the nitrate is 10, the PH is 6.9, the hardness is 150, and the temp is 65. Are there any suggestions to make anything better?

hi Lizz
the tank looks good but there a couple of things i would change. ....
1. The filter might cause to much water movement (they dont like fast water flowing)you could put some plants or something near or over the outlet so the water isnt falling directly into the tank. The people on here have a lot of ideas and they are willing to share them if you need help.
2. You could more plants around the tank so they have things to hide in....I use fake one because I dont seem to be able to keep ANY plants alive...
3. Please check the rocks that you have around the tank when you get your axie...the rocks need to be bigger that the axies head otherwise you run the risk of the axie eatinig them and you dont want that to happen......you will be surprised what a axie will fit into their mouth.
4. Please post some pictures when you are all set up.

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
