This is Axle, our 13 year old axolotl. He is a great character but sadly doesn't seem to be very well at the moment as he has stopped eating.

Hi Laura - I think we got some serious fluid retention going on here - I'm not surprised he's not eating. What do you normally feed?

In response to the previous reply, I would just like to point out that the photo is seriously deceptive -it's just the angle that makes him look so fat. The photo is 2 years old and there has never been any question of him suffering from fluid retention. The apparent bloating is simply due to the fact that the picture makes his 7 inch body look like about 3 inches.
