Illness/Sickness: Thrashing

I changed my tank today. Did about a 60% water change and rearranged the deco. I put them back in and noticed two of my three thrashing along the bottom. It's like what I've seen with other fish when they have ick scratching themselves on the sand. When I noticed the first one do it I said "Hey that's weird." I kept watching and then saw the other do it. I pulled clean water from my shrimp tank and fridged them. Water parameters show up normal. Help? I'm keeping them in the fridge for a day or so unless otherwise suggested.

What's 'normal' for your water parameters? Do you use a liquid test kit?

Why did you have to change so much of the water? Do you normally do that? What dechlorinator are you using?

It sounds to me like something must have been off with the new water that went into the tank.

Not that I would suggest pulling water from a different tank (especially a warm water tank because aren't aquarium shrimp all tropic species?) did they seem to calm down in the 'fresh' water? How are they behaving now that they are in the refrigerator?

Temperature is 72 right now. It's spring here so I have the heater off in the shrimp tank and the chiller isn't on in the axie tank yet. I use the dip sticks to test water and the PH is showing at a little above 7 according to the color on the box ( I know I need a better kit). I treated using AquaSafe for reptiles and amphibians. They seem to have chilled out in the fridge a lot (yes, I had to use the pun) though I initially heard a little ruckus from in there when I first fridged them. I assume because they don't like their temporary storage containers.

I don't normally change this much water but there was a lot of poop down there. My roommate's two year old always wants to "help" me clean the tank so I think I put it off too long to avoid temper tantrums from her when she couldn't "help."

The water was extra cloudy. I stirred up a lot of sand moving things around. Could that have irritated them?
