Hi All,
I am responsible for providing care to a collection of tiger salamanders and I wanted to ask if there has been any consensus regarding the regimen for calcium and vitamin supplementation. It was highly controversial over the past decade when I was working with chameleons.
Currently we feed the salamanders a variety of bugs with the following supplement schedule:
Monday: Calcium w/ D3
Wednesday: Calcium w/ D3
Friday: Repashy Supervite
However, it’s my current understanding that amphibians in general should get calcium with vitamin d3 as well as something like Herptivite multivitamin. What is the state of the science in supporting the calcium supplementation schedule for tiger salamanders?
