Nice specimens you have there, they will grow up well, as the adults they came from are very nice too, i take it you got them from a breeder near you??

Thats right Ben, lovely adults and collection and only ten minutes away. I only just found out about him. I wish I new about him a few years ago but then I would of had to get out a second morgage.

I have had that bug for a while now. I have a few fire species already

Salamandra gallaica
Salamandra bernardezi
Salamandra terrestris
Salamandra fastuosa
and now tingitana
and hopefully next week some gigliolli.

lovely looking salamanders, you said u get them locally, can I ask where (i'm in norfolk too) ive been after some more bernardezi's since June

If these algira's really originate from Cudia Adru, then they likely aren't S. a. tingitana, but belong to the Rif Mountains populations. There is a note concerning the Cudia Adru populations in the original description, they do not resemble S. a. tingitana in coloration and are found south of its distribution.

Its nice to see that various members on this forum keep more than just one or 2 species or sub species, but its important in my eyes that if you can, then find out the locality where they originally came from, that worth a lot to me, and when i have sold some of mine, then that question always comes up.

I was told that they would be reclasified and they are not the usual S. a. tingitana and that they do not have red in them and they produce larva but they definatly are from Cudia Adru.

The location thing is quite important, the differnces between individuals can vary so much even by a hundred miles, for instance mine and Ben's Terrestris from the Gauntlier region in France, mine have the tiniest speckle of red, where as the later are the true red form.
