Hello, I'm fairly new to the axolotl world and want to preface that I'm very overly paranoid about my guy. His water parameters are fine and his tank water is typically under 60 F. He also eats just fine. I was really looking at him today when feeding him and noticed he has a few tiny little dots on him that almost look like freckles. I don't think it's anything serious but thought I should ask just incase. I'm not very good with technology so I will try and post a picture. Thank you!

Hi there!

Could you give us your exact water readings? "Fine" isn't really helpful, if we could see exactly what your water readings are and what you tested your water with, that'd be a great help and we could take things a step further :) x

Yes sorry!
pH 7.4
Ammonia less than .25 ppm before water change
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5 ppm
Water temp: 58 F

And I test with the API aquarium test kit (the one with the chemicals and tubes)

Okay thanks!

It's not your water so, perhaps he's just caught himself on an ornament? And it's like a little "bruise" as you were, kind of blood under the skin?

Hmm ok that makes sense since he can be a little wild when I go to feed him sometimes lol thanks so much!
