Touching your Axolotl

This may seem like a silly question but as a first time owner I want to make sure I'm not doing something harmful.

I've thought Flip how to eat from my hand (shrimp being his favourite "in between meals" snack) and from a bowl. He seems to be a very social little guy and he's quite happy sitting on my hand. Oddly he seems to enjoy it when I kind of scratch his chin. I've read somewhere that Axolotls have really sensitive skin and they should not be touched? Anyone else have Axolotls who seem to enjoy interaction like this and sit on the hand?

Silly Axolotls
My axolotls (all 6 of them) tend to be more interested in food than interaction. I tend to hand feed them, or use feeding forceps. I have handled them to put them into another container when moving them between tanks, or sometimes to move them out of the way when cleaning their tanks.

He should be fine sitting on your hand but avoid grabbing him or scratching him (even if gently) as you may damage the delicate outer layer of his skin
