Hello all! My babies are a couple of days from hatching and I was wondering how most people transfer their hatchlings to a new container. I’ve had them developing in a 5 gallon tank with an air stone and plan on transferring them to tubs once they hatch. Some people I’ve seen suggest using a turkey baster to suck them up and transfer them to a new container but I’m not sure on that method? Sounds a little stressful for the new babies. What do you guys think? Baster? Nets?

I use the turkey baster method to catch them as they hatch, these guys can be tough...when I change the water I just dump the whole tub out onto a net and then put them in a new tub with clean water..lol...they stun a bit..but I swish my hand around and they come to life! Never lost one ths way...but once they older I seperate by size and then into their own tubs and carefully net them rather than dump into net..as they will stress once they juviniles..this is just how I do it...and really its up to you...and im sure some wont like y method...but is fast and I have never hurt one this way
