I think he is a gray treefrog\cope's gray treefrog
and I was wondering if he would be a hardy pet and if It was a good idea to keep him
and if so what to feed him and if my tank will work or would i have to set up I new one???
here's some pic's of my tank

ok just wondering if that would work because I am lazy

my dad has a few 10-15 gallon tank's in the basement (he had fish) I will ask him about a tank tonight
(I think he will say why do you need a tank for one frog????)

Well the tree-frog will need a tall tank, to climb and be healthy, I would use those temporarily, and save up to buy a ten or twenty gallon tall for him/her

ok I'll look at the tanks today (I'm going to a pet store to pick up some crickets)
also I signed up for the frog forum's (my username is the same)

my dad brought a tree frog home from work today (what is it about salamanders and my dad it work?? lol) heres is some pics of the tree frogs
here's the old one

here's the new one

the new one is bigger then the old one also I named the old one glutton (cus he ate 5 crickets in one night) so now that I got 2 frogs I will set up a new tall tank for them soon

Again, you need hides, and more climbing space, two frogs need hides, to reduce stress of the new one, and to reduce stress of the old one

thanks If I get one it will probably be the second one (better deal) ill keep you updated

I found 1 more (tree frog) at my uncle's so this will be the last tree frog I catch (probably)
I might have a tank though my dad has a 17 x 17 x 17 inch cube made out of I don't know plastic/acrylic/glass I just need a cover for the top before I set it up

Wait, is the other one the same species? Just making sure

they look very very similar so yes

here's some pic's of them
here's the new one

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
