Trip to France

Hello All,

Just got back from North Brittany France where I went away with my family for a week’s holiday. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to sneak in some herping with my Dad so we sneaked off most nights as the drinking was coming to an end.

Although we didn’t even have to go much more than 20m from our door in the day to find our first French Fire Salamander S.salamandra.terrestris.

Also got the chance to show my nephew his first wild Fire Salamander and he cant stop talking about them now.

Awesome find! Unfortunately, I live in an area completely devoid of caudates. Must be nice to come across such a cool species and to see it doing well in the wild.
