Last night, we added about ten glass shrimp into our 40-gallen vivarium ... the Triturus really perked up and started chowing down and stalking them, I only count about six left this morning ...

Now they're all clumped in the shallows, out of their usual hides, and I'm going to throw some leaves over them for cover. This isn't typical of them (they did it in the beginning when I first got them from the breeder while adjusting then became totally aquatic) ... could the "browsing" of the small glass shrimp be bothering them as they try to rest?

Should I take the glass shrimp out or should I just let them get eaten?

Pity, too. The shrimpies were doubling as good bottom-feeders on eating decomposing matter.
