Hi all,

on the first one is a male doing quite a risky business
side shots of the animals
and the last shot is about how the previous ones were taken

Very nice pictures. And very intelligent way of getting good shots.
I particularly like the fourth one, that male looks great.
btw, great looking Natrix natrix. Always loved that species :)

Great pics, as always, Juraj.

I know our Natricine snakes over here are obligate amphib eaters. Does that hold true across 'the big pond'?

Pond Creation

Hi Juraj, how did that pond you dug out several month back work out? Did the animals populate it naturally, or did you assist in any way? What's in it, if anything? Any pics of it? Thanks and take care.

There´s been record of Natrix maura eating salamandra salamandra (and that´s the most poisonous one i can think of). I would say though that the Natrix genus mostly preys on fish and tadpoles.
I would love to hear from that pond too Juraj, update us all hehe.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
