I recently got 2 young marbled newts, and they’re terrestrial right now. I’ve read through the caudata guide on marbled newts but still have a question- If i don’t want them to breed in the future (once they’re sexually mature) do i have to still offer a water setup for the season? Or can even the adults be kept terrestrially year round? I would prefer to keep them terrestrial and to not have them breed, as i can’t handle many babies yet, and I am unclear. Thank you for any input

When I kept a group I had them mainly terrestrial, with just a small water section. Mine was just a sunken bowl, about 2" deep . They are tended to hide more this way.

Okay. So adults can still be maintained terrestrially with a water section year round? Skipping the aquatic breeding season?
